			<title>Hunters Hill Junior Rugby has a new President</title>
			<link>http://www.huntershillrugby.com.au/latest-news/hunters-hill-junior-rugby-has-a-new-president.html</link>
			<description>
At a special meeting of the HHJRUFC, Rod Salmon advised the committee of his intention to step aside as President of the Junior Committee for personal and business reasons. The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank Rod for all his efforts on behalf of Hunters Hill Rugby Club.

During Rod's tenure, the club has experienced another period of tremendous growth to become the 4 biggest junior rugby club in NSW. Rod has overseen and driven many improvements to our home ground at Boronia Park. He has indicated his willingness to stay on the committee into the future to work on special projects that have started under his leadership. We would also like to pass on our thanks to the Salmon family who have supported Rod and the club in many ways over this period of time.

The Junior Committee have elected for Rod to remain on the committee as a general member and for him to be one of our nominated representatives on the Board of Management of the HHRC.

In line with the constitution of the club, the committee sought to fill the vacancy left by Rod. Andrew Skelly has agreed to fill the position of President of the Juniors until the next AGM.

Andrew can be contacted on skel4@bigpond.net.au (mailto:skel4@bigpond.net.au). We congratulate Andrew and fully support him in his new role.

Paul Goldie

			<title>Welcome to Hunters Hill Rugby 2008 Season</title>
			<link>http://www.huntershillrugby.com.au/home/welcome-to-hunters-hill-rugby-2008-season.html</link>
			<description>

All is in place for another fantastic year at Hunters Hill Rugby.

Hunters Hill rugby caters for all levels of rugby. As the club has grown over the years we have been able to enter teams in most division of each age group.

This allows the club to run an A Graded team in the under 10,11,12,13,14,17,18's this is a pathway system were we encourage these players to play Representative rugby for Gordon rep teams.

We also run teams in B. C, and D divisions which mean that players who are new to rugby are also catered for at Hunters Hill Rugby. We have great success in these divisions with a number of championship winning teams coming from these age groups.

The club grades the players from under 10 to under 18 at the beginning of each season. The under 6's to under 9's are not graded.

All our coaches are accredited with ARU qualifications and the club has a policy of continuing to develop our coaches' skills with additional courses though out the season.

Our aim at Hunters Hill Juniors is to give the players as much game time as is possible. By having up to 4 teams in and age group allows us the flexibility to ensure that players are getting plenty of rugby. Rather than having a team with too many reserves we prefer to run teams with just enough players and encourage boys to back up for a team that might be short a player on a particular weekend. This ensures that all players become better rugby players as well as keeping them fitter and happier.

Nobody likes sitting on the side line and our attitude at the club is we would rather run a team with a player short from time to time than run a team with 8 reserves with each player getting only 20 minutes of rugby.

The club enters teams in the Metropolitan Northern Zone (MNZ) competition which is a graded competition. This ensures that players and teams are having good close games each week and avoids the miss matches that occur in ungraded competitions.

The club has grown from under 100 players in 1998 to over 400 in 2007.

We are a friendly and social club with our now famous Friday night competition at Boronia park played under lights for the under 10 to under 13 teams being the highlight of the weekly social scene.

We have 2 full size ovals at Boronia Park Reserve Hunters Hill and this year the ovals are looking the best ever. Both ovals are well lit for night games.

The club has ordered new style shorts and tracksuits this year which will be on sale at the Gala day on the 16th March.

The season starts its first competition round on the Weekend of the 28th to 30th of March 2008.

Training for under 10's to under 18's will commence on the last week of February on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Coaches or managers of each team will be in touch with each player to be advised of the times for your particular team.

The under 6 to under 9 will train from the first week of March 2008

For any queries please contact the age coordinator in your age group. Details are under contacts on the web site.

Hope to see you soon at Hunters Hill Rugby!

Rod Salmon

Club ex President
